In 1944, General Douglas Mac Arthur led the allied attack on the Japanese who had conquered the Philippines years before.The campaign began at this spot, Red Beach, Palo, Leyte This is where Gen. Mac Arthur made his famous landing, just minutes after the Marines had secured the beach head. It was on this occasion that the famous general made the second half of his famous "I shall return" speech. Situated along the historic Red Beach, site of one of the greatest naval battles in history, this " Class A Resort " is just a stone's throw away from the Mac Arthur Landing Memorial.
This 5 hectare property has rooms all tastefully decorated with native materials. There are 43 air con rooms with cable T. V., telephones, private toilet and bath with hot/cold running water.
The set-up of each Deluxe room consists of 1 single bed and 1 double bed, while standard room may either be double or twin. Average room size is 28 sq. m. for standard rooms, 36 sq. m. for deluxe rooms and 56 sq. m. for the suite.
Nightly entertainment is provided at the Beach Head Cafe Bar. Ballroom dancing schedule is every Friday and Saturday.

Location
MacArthur Park Beach Resort is a 1 hour and 15 mins plane ride to Tacloban daily from Manila and then from Romualdez Airport to the hotel is about 15 mins.

MAC ARTHUR LANDING MEMORIAL - It consists of a Monument marking the spot where Gen.MacArthur landed with the Liberation Forces and a lagoon where the statues of liberators stand 1.5 times bigger than life. The shrine is surrounded by a beautiful landscape of various Philippine flowers and shrubs.Celebrated every year on 20th of October. MONUMENT OF FILIPINO SOLDIERS-Located at the Rotonda at Pawing, Palo, Leyte, it pays tribute to the Filipino World War II Soldiers and Veterans who offered the supreme sacrifice for the sake of freedom and democracy. PALO METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL - Located at Palo, Leyte, 12 kms. Westward along national highway. This was converted into an evacuation hospital of the Allied Forces and refuge of civillians during World War II in 1944. The cathedral was founded in 1596 by Augustinian Friars. HILL 122 - Commonly called Guinhangdan Hill, it was the entrance to the first liberated town (Palo) in 1944. Foxholes built by the Japanese and the Memorial Marker of Mie prefecture still exist.
